Looks like Sandy’s new movie did pretty well at the Box-Office considering that it was up against New Moon!
Summit Entertainment’s “Twilight: New Moon” exploded over the weekend as it recorded the third best domestic opening weekend gross with $140.7 million. The two films with better opening weekends were 2008’s “The Dark Knight” ($158.4 million) and 2007’s “Spider-Man 3″ ($151.1 million). Overseas, the film opened to $118.1 million for a worldwide opening total of $258.8 million. According to Variety, Warner Bros.’ Sandra Bullock sports drama “The Blind Side” was another surprise over the weekend as it came in No.2 with an opening of $34.5 million. That’s the best opening of Bullock.s career, beating the $33.6 million opening of Disney’s “The Proposal” earlier in June. Sandra has been out and about promoting her new movie ‘The Blind Side’, which I can’t wait to see because it looks so awesome. Talking about awesome. Sandra attended the New Orleans Premiere looking stunning as always. I just love everything about this look. The dress, the hair, the make-up. She is perfection!
Another thing that I love is that there are so many pics of her and her fans. Makes me love her even more!

Most of us first noticed Sandra Bullock when she toughed her way through “Demolition Man” as a futuristic cop in 1993. It was only a year later that she became a superstar with her breakout role driving a bus in “Speed.” In all the time since – she now has two dozen more films under her belt – she’s always been referred to as Sandra. So it’s a little disconcerting when she energetically introduces herself with, “Hi, I’m Sandy.” But energy was necessary in order to portray Leigh Anne Tuohy, one of the two main characters in the new film “The Blind Side,” the true story of Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), a poor, homeless, underachieving high school kid she pulls off the street and invites to become part of her family. Soon after, Michael discovers his talent for playing football.
Leigh Anne is wealthy, has a heart of gold, is constantly on the move and has probably never taken no for an answer from anyone.
“You don’t meet an energy like Leigh Anne’s, ever,” Bullock says. “I felt a great sense of fear in trying to tackle the person she is, but also a great sense of obligation to be true to this wonderful dynamic.”
Bullock explains that John Lee Hancock, the film’s writer and director, “could not explain Leigh Anne to save his life. And when I met her, I realized why he couldn’t: Because she’s an original.”
In fact, she admits that because of Tuohy’s oversized personality, she almost didn’t take the role.
“When I was initially approached with the film, I didn’t know how to play her,” Bullock says. “I didn’t know what I could bring to it. So I kept saying, ‘This isn’t going to work for me,’ but John Lee said, ‘Why don’t you just come and meet Leanne?’ So I went to Memphis and met her for a whole day, and I left there completely exhausted by the energy she has, but completely in love with this human being.
“But I still had no idea how to play her. I didn’t know how to bring that to life and be truthful and do a good job with it.”
Hancock jumps in, revealing how he got her to say yes.
“You made me beg, several times,” he says to her. “But I remember, a few days after the trip to Memphis, you told me playing this role terrified you, and that made you think you had to do it.”
Asked what she actually does look for in roles, Bullock says, “My way of choosing roles now is vastly different than it was a long time ago, but I can only be that way now because of what I learned from the past. So right now I’m choosing not to choose any work, because when you’ve had such nice, unexpected and fulfilling rides, you really don’t want to take a step backwards. It’s really made me satisfied in a way that I wasn’t looking for. But I was blessed with it, and now I feel really full, in a good way, where I don’t need to rush out and find something. I don’t want to. I want to enjoy where I am right now.”
Then she jumps back to “The Blind Side” and how it resonated with her.
“It was a beautifully executed book,” she says of the source material by Michael Lewis. “Especially for someone who’s been around football players her whole life and still knew nothing or cared anything about the game. By the end of the book I was in such awe of what it takes to be an athlete, and what the coaches contribute to these children’s lives, and how they support and push and inspire.” But she was most inspired by Leigh Anne, her husband (played by country star Tim McGraw), and their kids who, as a group, made the hapless Michael feel welcome in their home.
“Here’s this family that does this, not because someone was writing an article or writing a book or making a movie,” Bullock says. “They did it because that’s where their instinct said, ‘This is what we’re gonna do.’ And it makes you feel like you want to step up to that.”

Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock is these days busy packaging a family recipe into a line of sweet treats.
It was during an appearance on The Jay Leno Show on Wednesday night that the Miss Congeniality star distributed samples of her chocolate concoction, Aunt Luddy’s White Trash, among audience members.
Bullock drove the big batch from Austin, Texas to California for the talk show as a tribute to her late great aunt, who formulated the sticky treat, reports Contactmusic.
She explains, “She (my aunt) cooked and took care of everyone and made this thing called White Trash… She was one of the most amazing women and givers of love.
“So we travelled it across state lines… We literally had to shut the bakery down for three days to make the White Trash.”
It’s not quite the ultimate battle of good versus evil, but it’ll do: America’s Sweetheart is taking on a freshly jail-broken porn star in what’s shaping up to be quite the headline-grabbing custody dispute.
The child in question is 5-year-old Sunny James, the daughter of Monster Garage host Jesse James and his trouble-plagued, sobriety-challenged, adult-film-star ex, Janine Lindemulder.
For the better part of the last year, James (with a massive maternal assist from wife Sandra Bullock) has had sole custody of the child, due primarily to the fact that Lindemulder has spent the past six months behind bars for tax evasion.
But now she’s out and looking for a return stake in parental duties. And what better place to find that than Good Morning America?
